In a pioneering fusion of modern robotics and ancient musical heritage, our project brings to life two animatronic women that masterfully play the traditional Indian instrument, Tanpura. This innovative endeavor preserves and promotes India's rich cultural legacy using the latest technology. The robots, designed with emotional intelligence and musical improvisation, play the Tanpura with precision and grace, interacting with their surroundings through facial expressions, hand gestures, and eye movement.
The project involves designing and developing two animatronic robots, each with unique personalities and characteristics. They will each play a Tanpura, an essential component of Indian classical music, evoking its distinctive sound and resonance. Equipped with sensors, they detect human presence and respond accordingly, conveying emotions through facial expressions and hand gestures. Programmed to perform a choreographed routine, they showcase the musical prowess of the traditional musicians they emulate.
To create a lifelike performance, the robots mimic human-like movements and gestures, with facial expressions conveying emotions like joy, sadness, and excitement. The project also involves creating a custom-built stage simulating a traditional Indian music setting, equipped with choreographed lighting and sound systems to enhance the experience.
This project has the potential to significantly impact the preservation and promotion of India's cultural heritage. By combining cutting-edge robotics with traditional Indian music, we introduce this beautiful art form to new audiences and generations, demonstrating robotics' potential in preserving cultural heritage and paving the way for future projects combining technology and tradition
